The summary requirement of this mandate is to strive towards management responsibilities of the forest, where First Nation will be consulted on the exploitation of the forest, whether it is to reestablish a harvested region, or to govern the sustainable use of the forest in its entirety.
Through continued consultation with our First Nation leaders, and their respected Elders, we have concluded the need for First Nation people to manage the responsibilities of the forest, through partnerships with governing agencies, and our First Nations. Our responsibilities have become more relevant with our First Nations leaders and Elders. As the Forestry Program takes on more responsibility on behalf of First Nations, we will be in a position to acquire more responsibilities regarding Forest Management activities adjacent or on First Nation traditional territories.
