Description

PAGC White Buffalo Treatment Centre invites applications for a Teacher Associate for the remainder of the 2011-2012 school year.

The Saskatchewan First Nations Inhalant Abuse Treatment Centre is a 12 bed residential treatment facility for First Nations youth of Canada (12-15 years of age), as well as a Community Outreach pre and post treatment program. It is situated on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation Reserve.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Working under direction of a professional teacher

Assisting in group and/or individual instruction of students

Assisting in the preparation of instructional materials.

Assisting in the supervision and management of students

Participating in extra-curricular functions.


Qualifications
  • Experience in working with children in an educational setting.
  • Training in Human Services and/or Teacher Education program will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum Grade 10 education
  • The ability to speak an official language of the PA Grand Council would be an asset. (Cree, Dene or Dakota).
  • Must undergo a Federal Criminal Record search, the results of which may influence the decision to employ.

The Montreal Lake First Nation is now accepting applications for the position of Band Manager. The Montreal Lake First Nation provides a number of programs and services to it’s Band Members including education, health, justice and economic development services as well as operating a number of prevention programs. The head office is located on Montreal Lake First Nation.

Reporting to the Chief and Council Band Manger is accountable to the Band Membership is responsible for developing, recommending and implementing approved strategies and business plans for the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of Montreal Lake First Nations Programs and Services. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience managing similar organization. He/ she will have the ability and vision to successfully develop and direct the overall operation of the First Nation

Duties will include;

­work with the Chief and Council to ensure the mission, goals, strategies, plans and programs of Montreal Lake First Nation are clearly defined and adhered to

­work with the Chief and Council and Program Directors to ensure the appropriate development of Montreal Lake First Nations policies, plans, budgets, and strategies to provide quality services to the Membership

­ensure the development and on-going maintenance of effective communications both within Montreal Lake First Nations , with the various levels of government and with other related stakeholders to advance and enhance awareness, understanding and support of Montreal Lakes First Nation mission, goals, strategies, services and performance

­represent Montreal Lake First Nation to the public, corporations, government organizations, other aboriginal and related professional organizations and the media as required or directed by the elected officials

­direct the effective utilization and administration of Montreal Lakes First Nation human, financial, information and physical resources to meet its mission, goals, strategies and plans

­work with the Chief and Council, Program Directors to ensure the preparation and presentation of Montreal Lake First Nation budgetary and planning requirements are carried out, including adequate systems to ensure full accountability for the organization’s monetary and human resources

­work with the Chief and Council, Program Directors to ensure that Montreal Lake First Nations carries out its operational responsibilities in accordance with any contractual obligations

­collaborate effectively with the Membership, the FSIN, AFN, INAC, related organizations, professional associations, corporations to develop and enhance First Nation financial management
