DEATH OF WOMAN ATTRIBUTED TO DANGEROUS WINTER ICE ROAD CONDITIONS IN NORTHERN SASKATCHEWAN

Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nation express their deep sorrow and regret after the loss of a woman who lost her life yesterday after her vehicle fell through a winter ice road in Northern Saskatchewan.

The First Nation has been pressing the government for years for an all-season road in the North to improve the safety of residents and improve accessibility.

Every year incidents happen on the winter ice roads which will strand drivers, cause serious accidents, and take more lives every year...
