Lands & Resource Development

Athabasca Land and Resource Use Planning Board is composed of regional representatives of the Athabasca Interim Advisory Panel and is established pursuant to the Agreement Respecting the Land and Renewable Resource Use Planning and Management Board in the Northern Saskatchewan - Lake Athabasca Region of 2001 to develop a three staged land and renewable resource use management plan. May 2008, the Athabasca Denesuline Nations and the Athabasca Municipal Communities did agree and endorse an Athabasca Land Use Vision to collectively manage the use of the land and renewable resources of the Athabasca Region in an integrated and environmentallysound manner and to ensure ecological, economic, social, cultural and spiritual benefits for present and future generations of residents of the Athabasca region.
